Media Room

Welcome to the Seeking Publicity Media Room, our online resource for journalists. Seeking Publicity opened its doors in 2006. A gap in the market was identified for a business to cater for the publicity needs of small and medium-sized businesses in New Zealand.

Traditionally, companies that receive coverage in the news media are those who hire public relations companies or employee public relations professionals directly. But this is out of the scope of most small and medium businesses, despite the many benefits media publicity offers.

These include rapid gains in credibility, reputations, perceived worth and sales leads.

While the prices charged by major PR companies may be expensive, Seeking Publicity has found another way for businesses to receive these benefits without the hefty price tag.

This comes in the form of media training, also known as publicity training.  Seeking Publicity offers a variety of training options for the small and medium business, all acknowledging that participants have a day job and don’t have the time to spend many hours on public relations.

The training options are all focused on finding what journalists want and how to give it to them. They are not about twisting their arm or tricking them into giving you some free publicity. This is merely a myth that is not realistic. The free publicity comes from providing quality information to media people who are focused purely on what their readers, viewers and listeners are interested in. The flagship product is the course, Media Secrets 101.
